“Using novel mechanotechnology which measures and interprets the mechanical forces involved in the human immune system”

Dr. Ma’s research is based on novel mechanotechnology which measures and interprets the mechanical forces involved in the human immune system.

Her proposal provides a pathway for using these mechanics to identify and predict immune responses, which could greatly advance vaccine development and personalized cancer treatment.

About Rong Ma:

Dr. Ma studied Environmental Science and Technology at the City University of Hong Kong. In 2021, she received her Ph.D. in Chemistry, Mechanobiology, and Immunology at Emory University, Atlanta.

Dr. Ma held a postdoctoral position at Kahlid Salaita’s laboratory at Emory University, Atlanta, and is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford Medicine's Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology in the Garcia Lab.
