Dr. Joshua Gray Awarded Michelson Prize for Proposal Focused on Improving Vaccines for Infants

The Michelson Medical Research Foundation has awarded a 2026 Michelson Prizes: Next Generation Grant to Dr. Joshua Gray in recognition of his proposal, “Tissue-adapted CD4 T Cells Orchestrate Mucosal B Cell Immunity in Infancy,” to understand how infant immune cells interact in the lungs and gut in order to design vaccines that provide stronger, longer-lasting protection from birth. 

About

Dr. Gray began his career outside of academia. He left school at 15 to play professional soccer in the UK. At 21, he transitioned to science, completing an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science at Northumbria University in Newcastle, followed by a Ph.D. in Immunology at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. Dr. Gray then moved to Columbia University for postdoctoral training and is currently an Associate Research Scientist in Professor Donna Farber's laboratory.
