Dennis Schaefer-Babajew Explores the Issue of Antibody Feedback Regulation on Adaptive Immune Responses

Dennis Schaefer-Babajew, Ph.D. is an Instructor in Clinical Investigation at the Nussenzweig Lab at The Rockefeller University. He was awarded a 2023 Michelson Prize: Next Generation Grant for his proposal, “Antibody feedback regulation of adaptive immunity to cognate antigen."

Dr. Schaefer-Babajew’s proposal will explore the impact of pre-existing antibodies on subsequent B cell responses. As most infections and vaccinations are serial in nature, rather than a single exposure, this research is poised to have major implications for our understanding of adaptive immunity against infections and vaccine design.
